and thousands more vintage treasures in our
un-cataloged Discovery sale on Wednesday.
Augusta Auction Company is North America's premier auction house specializing in the sale of vintage & historic clothing, rare textiles, jewelry and fashion accessories. Most of the objects sold at our New York City and Sturbridge, Massachusetts sales come from museums, historical societies, universities and other institutional collections. The balance are consigned from estates and private collections.
Our New York sales are held each spring and fall in Manhattan. Our Massachusetts sales are held annually in Sturbridge, MA and coincide with Brimfield Antique Week each spring.
Fashions and textiles offered span six centuries with items dating from the early-15th century to couture from the past decade. Garments and textiles offered for sale from museum collections include pieces that no longer fit the criteria of the museums’ collections policies, duplicate other pieces in their collections, or are pieces no longer exhibited. Many have been in museum storage for decades.
All museum items are new-to-market and have not previously been offered for sale. The museum collections are sold to the highest bidder, free of any minimum bids or auction reserves. Proceeds from auction purchases go directly into the museums’ acquisitions funds or used to support their conservation efforts.
