Made by African Bamana people: 2 used in rites of passage, white patterns on dark brown ground, 7 narrow strips of woven cotton cloth sewn together, dyed w/ mud, the repeating design areas bleached out, both 34" x 54", excellent; 1 cloth mud dyed w/ ochre & dark brown pigments, pattern of antelopes, spotted cats, birds & warriors, excellent.
