Cream crepe back hammered silk satin w/ modified halter neck, fitted W into ankle length bias cut skirt, orig matching belt w/ quilted gold & silver kid arabesque applique, buckle covered w/ hammered satin & kid, label “Jeanne Lanvin, Paris”, summer 1937, illegible couture number, nearly identical gown held in MET collection accession number 2009.300.43a,b, B 36”, W 29”, L 60”, belt 4” x 27”-28”, (light brown/yellow discoloration scattered throughout w/ areas ranging up to 10” esp. at lap & seat, sm hole above CF hem, few light black scuff marks up to 2” CB hem, scattered tiny pulls/scuffs to satin, few loose stitches at interior SH strap seams, light crackling to metallic leather on belt) very good.
