1 semicircular cover or panel of off white silk moire taffeta hand painted in polychrome chinoiserie flowering vine, ribbon, feather, paint palette & book motif, self pleated trim, edges bound w/ light pink silk, ecru silk backing, repurposed from dress, France, c. 1775, 73” x 121”, (heavy shatter, many sm repairs, discoloration) Poor; 1 valance c/o various floral pattern brocaded silks w/ irregular patchwork construction bordered w/ pale green silk ribbon & accented w/ couched silk embroidery, perimeter bordered w/ galloon, lined in red cotton sateen, possibly for ecclesiastical use, France, textiles 18th C & construction 19th C; 22” x 73”, (shatter & discoloration, tarnish to trim, stains up to 2.5”) Fair. Provenance: Brooklyn Museum.
