Two wall panels of red silk damask w/ silk & gilt metal appliqué in symmetrical design of acanthus leaves w/ painted dimensional shading & outlined w/ gilt metal wrapped cord, applied border of silk & gilt metal braid, backed w/ dark red silk, possibly Florence, early 18th C, 20” x 38”, (light tarnish & wear, few sm stains, few sm openings b/t appliques, light discoloration) very good & 19.5” x 30.25”, (moderate wear & tarnish, light discoloration) good. Provenance: Brooklyn Museum.
